This is wonderful, esp. the last track. It's at home or I'd run it
down. I'd only heard the "Such Great Heights" cover off the Postal
Service EP, and now I'm wanting the first Iron & Wine album.

                        > Josh Rouse Nashville (Rykodisc)

Played this once, and love it. His last had some good songs, but
was sunk by the sophomoric "Slaveship". This one has plenty of
hooks, but isn't as slickly polished as the last few. Feels like
he's trusting his talent to propel the songs, rather than the time
                        spent in the studio.

                        > Devo Duty Now for the Future and New Traditionalists (Collectables)

I'll buy both of these. The first, just for "Pink Pussycat"
("meowmeowmeowmeow..."), but the one I've been waiting for is "New
Traditionalists", an old favorite. "Through Being Cool", "Jerkin'
Back N Forth", "Going Under" (as a kid, took me a while to realize
what the song was about), "Working in a Coal Mine" ("Looooorrd, I
                        am SO tired..."). Sigh.

                        > Mogwai Government Commissions - BBC Sessions 1996-2004 (ICE #216) (Matador)

Played this once, too. Wish they'd chosen a few more of their
melodic tunes. C'est la vie. "Superheroes of BMX" is a great cut,
                        though.
