Zombies Members Reunite for Rare September Tour
Roky Erickson to chaparone band to and from each gig
      Ray Suzuki reports:
Vocalist Colin Blunstone and keyboardist Rod Argent of 60's underground
psych-pop heroes The Zombies are reuniting for a U.S. tour next month,
according to their official website. The original creators of such
psychedelic masterpieces as The Zombies (1964), Begin Here (1965) and
Odessey & Oracle (1968) had not collaborated or even spoken much following
the dissolution of the band in the late 1960's. Indeed, the now-classic
Odessey & Oracle was recorded on a low budget to fulfill the terms of the
Zombies' recording contract, using Mellotron effects instead of the
intricate string and horn arrangements the band had used in their mid-60's
heyday. The rest is history, as evidenced by Argent's killer licks on freak
hit "Time Of The Season," "Care Of Cell 44," and any number of Zombies
      classics.

Blunstone and Argent collaborated for the first time in over thirty years
for a reunion project entitled Out Of The Shadows, which they released last
year through Argent's website. The lineup, which does not include original
Zombies bassist/songwriter Chris White, guitarist Paul Atkinson, or drummer
Hugh Grundy, performed four sold-out shows at the Village Underground in
New York City last year. Tour dates:

09-18 Harrisburg, PA - Whitaker Center
09-19 Falls Church VA - State Theatre
09-20 New York, NY - BB King's Niteclub
09-21 Glenside, PA - Keswick Theatre
09-23 Buffalo, NY - The Trelf
09-24 Cleveland, OH - Beachland Ballroom
09-26 Chicago IL - The Abbey
09-27 Milwaukee, WI - Mirimar Theatre
09-28 Minneapolis, MN - First Avenue
