Most of the runners that are hardcore about the flint hills series do not swim.  Any triathletes from Anchorage for the Chena Lakes tri would be interested

Besides, I'll be out of town for most of June so July is better for me.

I think the 17th would work great!

      Drew,

I definitely say July 17th. Usually the Chena Lake Tri is the day after
the Golden Days parade, so it would have been a problem to have an event
on the morning before it. However, since they are doing it a week
earlier this year, I think the 17th is great. There's a run every
Saturday of the summer, and although the Run of the Valkeries is one of
the Flint Hills Cup runs, it's not nearly as popular as some of the
other ones. Ramona Reeves seemed pretty keen on doing the Chena Splash
as a joint age-group / masters event the day before the Chena Lakes Tri,
      have you gotten her input?

The other possibility is Saturday July 24th (conflict with the Golden mile and Golden days parade). To avoid some of these conflicts we could consider moving the event to the afternoon, but there would be more boats on the lake to deal with in the afternoon.
