Group Description

Is a set of 1:1 simple, fast and fun rules for ancient and medieval skirmish scale games using 25-28mm or 1/72 plastic figures, and designed to cover roughly from 3000 BC to 1400 AD. As well as classic field battles these rules also allow for opposed landing actions and ancient siege operations, as even in ancient times many actions included landings and were directed to assault a fortified site! The emphasis is on fast, simple and enjoyable basic mechanics, suitable for games with many players, but which produce accurate results in harmony with actual historical tactics.
This group is playtesting and evaluating these rules for Skirmish Wargaming, which have a strong focus on being simple to understand and remember and easy and fun to play.
The rules are available freely to members and will be tweaked and updated according to member's input in order to have the best possible rules set.
As well as the basic rules in this group files you'll find advanced rules which offer more detail and cover exotic troop types, sample scenario set-ups, examples, diagrams and lots of cool pictures! The only thing we would ask is that members who give the rules a try get back to us on this list with their impressions and suggestions for improvement.

PLEASE NOTE that you'll be receiving the latest version of the basic rules in pdf format automatically as soon as you join. This is meant to be a service, so just let me know if you would prefer not to! :)

The list is moderated to avoid spammers.
