Evidently Hydra 1.0 was just released yesterday.

      http://hydra.globalse.org/

It's a freeware text editor for Mac OS X that has support for
multi-party editing and can act as an external editor for Project
Builder. The developers explicitly created it to enable distributed
      pair programming.

In terms of pair-programming - if you have wireless and laptops, two
people just need to plunk down their laptops and decide they work
together, and everything is just working. (Yes, it keeps track of
multiple input foci and other neatness!)

In other words: It rocks my world!
