      I agree that SP is one of those practices that is generally
      self-imposing: after some time has passed and the team notices its own
      increase in speed, SP happens on its own. The team members notice that
      they get more done in less time and don't need to work overtime.

      In my experience, the problem is not measuring the buy-in, it is
      wishfully thinking that "this time it won't be so bad." I am beginning
      to realize that it is always that bad, and I'm more than happy to let
      other people try to install XP in an organization where we expect little
      buy-in. I'd even pay them for it, if they were successful.
