  • Since there was a helpful discussion some time ago on USB keyboards and mice for pair programming that was not specific to perl, I wanted to solicit the group for information on network software (also not specific to perl). I just set up openVPN on my openwrt/WRT54G router for pair programming with a headset and skype. (1) Can any point me to the documentation on sharing desktops...

  • I looked at Test::Databaserow and it does not appear to be nearly as sophisticated as Java's DBUnit. I did a search for Test and Database and came up with Test::TempDatabase and that looks like it will help but it still does not look as capable as java's DBUnit. I was going to try calling Java's DBUnit from my perl code. What are other folks doing about this problem? Are you using...

  • Was this a one time event or can I expect to see more such meetings? I regret I was unable to attend. • I got two mice hooked up to a single motherboard! I got two monitors hooked up to a single motherboard! I'm having trouble with with the two keyboards. I have two PS/2 keyboards with USB adapters and I plug them into a little USB hub and Windows 2003 issues a little error message. Only one keyboard works. Do I really need to buy two new USB keyboards? Are not they the same as a PS...

  • Somehow I missed the beginning of this discussion. Where are the archives of this mailing list where I can get the URL of this online book. Does the file extension "el" refer to emacs lisp? Thanks Siegfried --- Rob Nagler wrote: > Greg Compestine writes: > > This is a timely post. I was on the verge of > sending out the very same > > query. I have two questions: > > > > 1. Which...

  • May I confirm here? Let's assume I get the USB keyboards and multiplexer or the Y connector for PS/2 keyboards and 2 PS/2 keyboards (http://kinesis-ergo.com/other_adap.htm). MS Windows (or Linux) is going to think all the keystrokes are coming from a single keyboard and not multiple keyboards? MSWindows is also going to think there is a single mouse and not muliple mice...

  • I thought someone mentioned using e-macs (apparently not to be confused with the emacs editor) for pair programming on macintoshes. They also mentioned that it was also possible to plug in mutliple keyboards and mice into a windows box. I'm buying a new computer and I want to configure it for pair programming. Presently my motherboard only has one receptical for a single keyboard...

  • We are finding my desk a bit cramped and were wondering if there was any software for pair programming that would allow two different computers to simultaneously edit the same file simultaneously so that both individuals can see the other's changes realtime. Here is one company that provides such a product: http://www.groove.net/ I think there product is mainly for writing textual...

  • Someone mentioned that there was a special feature in Emacs that facilitated pair programming. I'm very familiar with emacs but I have not run across this feature before. Can someone send me a pointer to the fragment emacs documentation that discusses this? Thanks, Sieg __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo!
