      Wil,

I read Deutsch's "Fabric of Reality" and recall that he's heavily influenced by Popper. Just checking a few reviews of his latest book, it looks as if he follows his politics as well. This doesn't mean any of his ideas are worthless. I did like his multiverse explanations.

My problem with his statements has nothing to do with his manner of doing science; it has to do with his unfortunate dismissal of philosophy and his misunderstanding of ontology.

I can't say I understand everything he goes on about but he is MUCH more optimistic than Krauss and I've been a fan of his for years after reading Fabric of Reality. You caused me to take The Beginning of Infinity (his latest) off the shelf last night to reread some sections. Ditch Krauss and read Deutsch!!

Very interesting, Wil. I kept wondering how it went. Good thing he didn't
start spouting off about philosophers, eh? :-D Thank you for the update.
The first link worked but the second one did not.
