[ Could a non mystic teach somebody to be a mystic? ]

Oh I love these trick questions. They keep you on your toes :- )))

A non mystic could teach you about mysticism, yes. But they would first
have to become a mystic to know what it is and what it is like :- ) But
a non mystic could point out to you what has been said and written
about it. But how would the non mystic know that what he was pointing
out about mysticism to you was correct? For what they had read or heard
might be nothing but a load of gibberish nonsense. How would they know
which was which ? Could a non chess player teach you how to play chess?
Yes, but they would have to learn it first and once they had learned it
they would not be a non chess player any more. Plus you would have got
      fed up waiting. Innit.

But that was not exactly your question was it. The question was can
somebody teach you to be a mystic? No. Not even mystics can do that.
But they can point things out to you which can be of assistance.
Assuming you know one of course :- ) Next question. Why not try this
one next – Can a stone teach you about what it is like being
conscious? Answer - Yes, if it became conscious and it was a reasonably
good teacher and you were a reasonably good pupil :- )
