      Practical Existentialism

This is easy enough to do providing that you accept that it takes up a
little of your time each day for about ten years (the first ten years is
best) and sincere effort, and being strictly honest with yourself. It is
about studying yourself and your relationship with the world which you
find around you. What do you think and feel about the world around you,
and how does it make you feel when observing it closely? Then study
closely that which is doing the feeling and the observing. That is to
say YOU, the Observer of the Observed. Don't carry a cart load of
indoctrinate nurture and education baggage with you when you do this,
for you don't want any cotton wool getting in the way. Then, after ten
years of this make some detailed notes in writing. Then stop doing it
for ten years and just get on with your life. And then ten years later
do it again for another ten years and take notes when done. And then
compare them with the notes you made ten years ago. And then keep this
circle going all your life. See what happens. Be observant. And be
honest with yourself. Can you know and understand what you are observing
if you don't know what is observing it? Don't assume; find out. Have a
think about that one. And be honest with yourself. No hiding under the
blanket of comfort and pretence and sticking heads in the sand of make
believe. YOU exist. What is it?
