      Bill,

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a clear and concise summary of Nietzsche's life and philosophy is presented in "The Philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche" by German-American H.L. Mencken (190 pages). It's available from Barnes & Noble and quite a treat.

The way FN uses symbols is especially effective on me. He brings out the heberminch in me . I am sure it relates to the austrian geneology I have. So I may be genetically inclined toward FN. Must I recuse myself whenever he is mentioned? Bill
