Herman retains his usual low standards while Brandon seems to join the ragged tragedy of strangeness we so often encounter here.

I am revisiting Burn`s "Civil War". It is a hard watch as I see how the proud and stupid managed to drive millions to bloody graves. PBs is fighting for its funding ,directly in the sites of the Tea Party and its most aimed funding cuts. Such an open conspiracy in the cultural wars. Of course PBS throws gasoline on the fire by programing freedom rider footage right after The Civil War. Injecting moral platatudes into a butchery like the civil war completely trivalises the realities of bleeding and dying. That, we do alone and no committee or moral creed intreferes with the random act of dying. I think of Jackson Brown`s end of a song,"In the end there is one dance you will do alone" .
