      Wil,

If my personal life is of no interest to you, why do you spend so much time attacking it?

In addition, you do not respond to points of philosophical relevance, but appear to adduce your dislike of my arguments about madness, or even of myself personally, as an excuse for not engaging.

On reflection, though, I have inadvertently encouraged such a comment, by the content of some of my recent posts. However incompetently, I had been trying to bring to an amicable conclusion a series of battles in which emotional conflicts blended with arguments about facts and ideas in a way highly detrimental to the philos

Yes, I can see now that on the pragmatic level (which I find especially easy to forget since my existentialism has become increasingly Platonic), I am a middle-class right-wing liberal, with green tendencies. Having said that, don't you think that "stop talking about your madness and go see a doctor" is rather right-wing also? I am accustomed to such a response from troubled or indignant readers of the Daily Moralist, whether in tabloid or broadsheet form, and I am not saying it is unreasonable, but it is, I believe, repressive, and basically right-wing. And not liberal.

The "Kristallnacht" accusation is kind of interesting, and requires a separate post. Speaking as a householder, personal experience of broken windows, graffiti and other daubings have taught me that vandalism and political activism are quite complexly intertwined.
