Neoconservatism, based on Leo Strauss's teachings,[2] has been accused by critics of being influenced by Schmitt.[3] Most notably the legal opinions offered by John Yoo et al. justifying controversial policies -such as introducing unlawful combatant status which purportedly would eliminate protection by the Geneva Conventions,[4] enhanced interrogation techniques, NSA electronic surveillance program, unitary executive theory- in the war on terror mimic his writings.[3]

The above is from the wipedia. He certainly sounds on the same page as Straus, but if anything someone with stronger evidance of his affections for fascism. Straus was certainly influential in the mentoring of many of the people in or at least promoting the Bush administration.

Much has been made of the Straussian connection, but it was Strauss's pal
Carl Schmidt that has been the real ideological influence in this administration.
Political Theology is one of his main texts.
