      Amid all the chaos generated by communication at this list, it seems
      harmless to draw attention to the relevant section of Existlist FAQ.

      ~ Topics allowed include existentialism, phenomenology, and
      Continental philosophy. Any philosophical discussion is welcomed as
      long as it takes the topic seriously and encourages an exchange of
      ideas. Current philosophy is a frequent topic, especially post-
      modernism. ~

      In practice, though, contributors are interested in themselves and
      their particular worlds. The struggle to assert oneself and debate
      with others is itself intrinsic to existentialism, at least if one is
      given to membership of an internet forum. Politics causes so much
      strife. I am heartily sick of that kind of argument. Still, such is
      a personal perspective, not intended as proscriptive.
