      Harry,

Times like this, when a member leaves, I feel guilty and wonder if I had
contributed to his leaving. I sometimes think of Dawg (who provided
inspiration for heartfelt poetry) and wonder where hes gone and how
hes doing. I sometimes think of Pat (who provided inspiration for a
satirical piece) and wonder where hes gone and how hes doing. I
sometimes think of Paul and wonder where he is and how hes doing. Its
      like cyber suicide.

In feeling guilty, I rack my mind and try to think of each word I have
written. So now, its like walking on eggshells, and every woman who has
been through a womens refuge knows what that feels like. I very much
doubt if thats what the founders of existentialism had in mind when
they first put pen to paper.

In the end, each member is free to post what they like or feel is
relevant. By the same token, each member is free to read and respond, or
not respond. Perhaps one line responses are insufficient; I must bear
that in mind. As I have mentioned before, my biggest flaw is assuming
the reader knows where Im coming from (in the thought process).

I myself left this group a couple of months back. Eduard apologized, and
based partly on that, I chose to return. Not much more to say, except
that you may choose to return yourself. I dont know.

"Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go." ~Oscar
      Wilde

      Hi all,

Respectfully, I bid you all goodbye. It's been a short interval (since
mid-April) of intense and heated discussion and argumentation of which I

have been witness and perhaps in passing also one of its uneasy
      contenders.
And herein lies essentially the reason that I want to call it quits. I
      felt
myself slowly fall into an ever increasing trap of negativity, harsh
      words,
personal attacks, and with that the prime reason for wanting to join
      this
group became less and less pleasant to me. The prime reason being to
explore the vast and just barely explored territory of human wisdom and
existence through philosophical, and for this group, existential
      musings. I
have an extensive experience with mailgroups all around the world and
      this
one is IMO exceptionally fierce, possibly by far the one most pervasive
      in
how (some of) its members prepare to defend their once taken
      standpoints.
You all have a fundamental right to do so. The way that it is done
      however
I find I am unable to reconcile with my own needs and essentially gentle

nature. I'm sure you have seen otherwise, but all that was part of the
      trap
I felt myself fall into. You are just too much for me, not so in
      knowledge
and subject matter, but much more in the heated way it is presented,
      debated and defended.

Thanks to Chris and Susan for their inspiration, leadership and
      guidance.
Thanks to Shari, David, Bill, Bryan, argghhh, all of you!, for your
patience to read, acknowledge and respond to the small contributions I
      may
      have given.

Take care, and... wherever whenever you will go next, pls keep in mind:
      in
a debating group a friendly, welcoming and supportive attitude towards
eachother gives to many the right atmosphere so their tender and often
unpolished musings may through discussion and debate grow to a certain
boldness and daringness but most of all peer-reviewed and -substantiated

maturity which can then be brought to their own homes and thus in the
      end
may contibute to the good of us all.

      Kind regards,
      - Harry -
