Re: [evonline2002_webheads] update on gmail problem
- Thanks again everyone for your replies
This morning I awoke to a behaving-as-normal gmail account! Yay!
But have not received any (not even a generic) acknowledgment or apology or
explanation from Google, which is disappointing.
Appears that some emails sent during the time I was blocked have come
through, many others haven't. odd.
Some advice given on the forums, which may or may not be useful to any of
"advice which may not stop this happening again but will allow you to see
what was there already. First install Thunderbird or similar so that whether
you can access Gmail or not you have a copy of all your emails on your pc.
Second open another Gmail account and (remembering to keep the original copy
on the first account) forward everything to this account. With the amount of
hacking that is going on I would make sure that you have the best password
you can think of with randomized letters, caps and numerals and you update
your profiles to include an up to date cell phone number and alternative
active Email address plus make a note of when you opened the account and if
you were introduced to Gmail the address of that person."
I'm glad to have access again and now scrambling to notify folks and catch
up a bit.
