Necrophilia among ducks

The excerpt from the piece given below notes that similar cases had not been reported. Yet, after
forwarding this piece to an Austrian researcher colleague this was the reply:
I saw that once, too, on a bike-tour!
Admittely, I was really shocked.
If only I knew that one can make scientific career with it..... :-)
