It's a tremendous archive. Let's not lose it.

      Dear Friends,

Professor Sattler has raised, indirectly, the question of the continued existence of the Yahoo Groups evforum. Has it any utility? Will anyone compose a well considered message to 200 people, only to see it roughly handled and then interred in the Yahoo mail storage box?

I have been looking around the internet at FaceBook, a now fashionable replacement for the old listserve, and am surprised to see how many FaceBook pages are devoted to EV. (I am afraid I do not understand FaceBook well enough to identify the creators of these pages, otherwise I would add their names.)

There is a now a Czech website: http://www.voegelin-principles.eu/
and it has its FaceBook page:
      Not much there, yet.

And there is also this Czech site:
But its initial impetus appears to have run down.

      Then there is “Voegelin Brazil”:https://www.facebook.com/groups/203367519713878/
I assume this is the fruit of Olavo de Carvalho’s labors, or one of his students, and it is a closed group.

Then there is a FaceBook page simply entitled “Eric Voegelin,” which I take to be the work
of one of Olavo’s students. It appears to be an active site with English and Portuguese content.  https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=eric%20voegelin

Then there is the FaceBook page I created in 2011 for VoegelinView but never really developed. For three years I put up the weekly summaries of what was new at Vv this week.
When I went back to look at it today, it had been unpublished, probably because nothing new had been put there in three years. I added a couple of photos and Lee Trepanier’s name (heh heh!) and republished it. As of now it is only a memorial to times past:

The posts shown there are basically excerpts from the collected works. It seems to be published monthly or bi-monthly. (I should like to contact the creator of this FaceBook page if someone can help.)

So I ask, do you think the evforum should be left as it is, because it may become more active in the future, especially if someone desires to promote it? Or should it be quietly put to rest? I do not anticipate being able to assist in its management within the not-too-distant future. It will be up to Jack Elliott, our co-Moderator.

      Best wishes,

      Fritz Wagner
