      1st Multidisciplinary Conference of Aga Khan University in East Africa
      Human Resource Capacity Building
       
      We are pleased to announce the First Multidisciplinary Conference of Aga Khan University in East Africa to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from Monday 4th September to Wednesday 6th September, 2006. The theme of the conference is Human Resource Capacity Building, and the aim is to bring together health professionals from around the globe to share research findings and to discuss issues relevant to health of the population, with a specific focus on developing regions,
      CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
      Abstracts that address any of the following sub-themes of the conference are invited:
      ·                                 Tertiary care services in a resource challenged environment, for example, Development of Oncology;
      ·                                 Health Professional Development, for instance, Innovative approaches to Education such as e-Learning; and
      ·                                 Knowledge Management and Information Sharing, for instance, Global Health Equity through Knowledge Management and Information.
      Abstract preparation guidelines
      ·                                 Abstracts must indicate the surname and initials of all authors, with the surname of the presenter underlined
      ·                                 The abstract title to be indicated in boldface, capital letters (uppercase) and centred
      ·                                 Designation, institutional affiliation and country of presenter to be indicated
      ·                                 The abstract must be typed in single spacing
      ·                                 The abstract must be submitted in English
      ·                                 Where appropriate, the text may be structured using the following headings: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions
      ·                                 Maximum number of words for abstract: 300, excluding Title, Authors and Institutions
      ·                                 Indication of whether the abstract is for oral or poster presentation
      Abstracts should be sent to John Arudo (jarudo@...) by no later than the 31st of May, 2006.
      Authors will be informed whether their papers/posters have been accepted by no later than 15th of June 2006. Although every effort will be made to comply with presenters' preferences, the final decision on whether a presentation should be given as an oral paper or a poster presentation will rest with the Scientific Programme Committee.

      Acceptance of papers/posters does not in any way imply financial support to attend the conference.
