Group Description

The Essex and Passaic County Cancer Coalitions, after 8 yrs serving as separate coalitions, united to form the new regional two-county Essex-Passaic Wellness Coalition (EPWC), effective July 1, 2012, with an enhanced mission in terms of chronic disease and with combined meetings. We are partly supported by a health services grant from the NJDOH Office of Cancer Control Programs (OCCP).
Please visit our website at web.njms.rutgers.edu/EPWC for detailed information & updates, including upcoming & past meetings and talks.
The EPWC Coordinators include Dr. Daniel M. Rosenblum at telephone (973) 972-4623 [fax: 973 972-6556].
Professor Stanley H. Weiss, MD, FACP, FACE at the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, is the Founder, Director & Principal Investigator of the EPWC
The Essex County CEED Coalition was formed in order to encourage local partnerships to promote cancer screening services. It is a cooperative venture from the St. Michael's Medical Center CEED Project [formerly based at East Orange General Hospital] and the NJMS/University Hospital "S.A.V.E. Women and Men" CEED Project. These are coordinated, respectively, by Ms. Aretha Hill-Forte and Ms. Catherine Marcial. Since Sept 9th 2004, all meetings of the Essex County CEED Coalition have been held in conjunction with the (then newly formed) ECCC. These meetings occur quarterly, are always public & open to all, and usually include talks by nationally recognized experts.
We actively maintain there a COMMUNITY CALENDAR of cancer-related events - especially screening & education. Information can be downloaded or printed in either of 2 formats. VISIT us at http://web.njms.rutgers.edu/EPWC
We warmly welcome submission of information about relevant events & other timely news: CONTACT Dr. Rosenblum
