      If you want to post a link to an eBay auction, be sure to leave off
      any characters after the last digit of the item number. These
      additional characters are not necessary for a working link. When you
      include these characters, the link is often obscured by the ad that
      is positioned on the right side of the message box. Furthermore,
      when the full link is posted, it is often so long that it's broken up
      into two lines. Only the first line is highlighted in blue, which
      means that you can't reach the site by clicking on it. It's also
      difficult to copy and paste the link into one's browser.

      If you lop off the unecessary bits, the link is confined to a single
      line and you can reach the auction by just clicking on it.
