I mean it could just be a foreign planchet, from what country, i don't know, OR a US planchet that was just punched from thick stock, but surely much overweight at 4.5g.
For 2 bucks, it was an interesting pickup, but would like some identification of its origin.

Can anyone tell me what a 4.50 gram copper cent planchet might be? Possibly a cent planchet for a fying eagle or indian head cents from 1859-62 although these weigh 4.67 grams, could my planchet be in tolerance at 4.5 grams? However my planchet looks more modern and is nearly fully red that looks more like copper-zinc than 90% copper?
It was a recent ebay purchase.
Here is the ebay auction #
      260784231619
its normal in diameter, just quite thicker.
