      In addition to everything else, this coin shows all the
      characteristics of a massive vertical misalignment of the obverse
      (hammer) die (tilted die error). It may not be an off-center strike
      in the strict sense. Any die tilted to this degree will angle in
      toward the center of the planchet. Thus any coin struck by the die
      will have the appearance of an off-center strike, even if it was
      perfectly centered over the anvil die.

      I would dearly love to see any business strike with a vertical
      misalignment this severe.
