Would this be classified as a mint error or just a defective planchet?  I can see that there is a strip of copper that has somehow sheared up and layed over the opposite direction, but there also seems to be a small extra piece of copper layer below the eight in the date as well.  If this is considered an error, could someone inform me of the type of error and what caused it?  And also, where the extra piece of copper layer under the eight in the date came from.  <div><br><div><div>I really appreciate all the valuble information and knowledge I have been receiving from this group!!!  I got into error/variety coin collecting about a year ago after discovering my first DDO (1936-P 1?-Type II MS64 RB) and CONECA's website.  And to be able to discuss error and variety coins in an open forum with some of THE MOST RENOWNED EXPERTS in the world on error and variety coins is truly amazing to me!!!  </div><div><br></div><div>Thanks guys, for all that you do!!!<p></p></div></div></div>
