- Busy Weekend for Award-Winning Mystical Family Drama "Dreams Awake"
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2012
The award-winning, independently produced feature film, "Dreams
Awake," a mystical family drama starring Erin Gray, will be involved
in three different film festivals this coming weekend. The three film
festivals are the Awareness Festival in West Hollywood, the Honolulu
Film Awards in Honolulu, and the Life Fest Film Festival at the Los
Angeles Convention Center, where it is slated to pick up more awards.
Representatives from Way To Go Media, the production company that
produced "Dreams Awake," will attend all three film festivals.
Less than two weeks ago, "Dreams Awake" walked away with 2 Gold Remi
Awards at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival; one Gold
Remi was for Original Drama and the other was for Original Screenplay.
At the Honolulu Film Awards on May 5th, "Dreams Awake" will receive a
Silver Lei award. It has yet to be determined what awards are in
store for the film at the other two film festivals.
After the Awareness Film Festival screening on Sunday, May 6,
director Jerry Alden Deal will conduct a "Question & Answer" session.
Other participants will include one of the supporting actors, Najarra
Townsend, composer Bruce Chianese, and sound designer David
Sonnenschein.
Besides Gray, the film stars Gary Graham and Tim O'Connor. Gray is
known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series "Silver Spoons"
and "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century," but has also appeared in
several other TV series' and indie films. Graham starred in the TV
series "Alien Nation" and "Star Trek Enterprise," along with roles in
a number of indie films. O'Connor came out of retirement to cap off
his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in "Buck
Rogers," as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950s. He is
primarily known for his role in the 1960's TV series "Peyton Place."
Billed as a mystical family drama, the story's logline reads, "While
on vacation a disconnected family gets stranded near mystical Mt.
Shasta and gets more than they could have ever bargained for. A
glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human
spirit, this spiritual drama delves into that magical lore between
reality and illusions, dreams and awake, and life and immortality."
The production company, Way to Go Media, is an exciting, new film
development company dedicated to making independent films with
metaphysical themes through illuminating and powerful stories.
