      Musical Theatre Interpreting: An Introduction
      By Jean Plant

This event is open to everyone who is interested. Friday night we will go as a group to see the play "Once Upon A Mattress". Tickets are included in your registration price—it is expected you will attend as part of Saturday's training. We will meet at the Henry County Performing Arts Center on Friday evening at 6:00 sharp to have a group discussion on what to be looking for in preparation for our work on Saturday.

Saturday will be a workshop focused on interpreting for musical theatre. Specifically focused on the performance seen on Friday night. A good bit of the day will consist on working on the musical.

It is highly recommended that you watch the movie "Once Upson A Mattress" It can be rented from Blockbuster/Netflix. You can also download the album to your Smartphone/mp3 or bring CD player with you. Also have a notebook with you as you may need to take notes Friday night and Saturday.

If you are selected to interpret Saturday night's show you will need to be dressed in navy blue top and bottom, be prepared.

Please invite your friends and family to attend Saturday evening's performance. The tickets are only $10.00 at the door (your tickets are included in your registration).

Are you interesting in coordinating interpreters and accessibility for a BIG event? Atlanta PRIDE is looking for someone to join the Atlanta Pride Festival

Are you interesting in coordinating interpreters and accessibility for a BIG event?

Atlanta PRIDE is looking for someone to join the Atlanta Pride Festival Committee. PRIDE happens in October, but the PRIDE festival committee meets once a month and also is responsible for pre- and post- PRIDE events.

This is a great opportunity for a deaf individual and/or a certified interpreter to be involved in a really big event.

This is a volunteer position, but there are many great networking opportunities.

You can learn more about this at    http://atlantapride.org/

If you are interested, send an email to Executive Director Buck Cooke at  buck@...
