Beth Clay, a congressional staff member, is responsible for
collecting stories and statements from parents of children with
disabilities. Congress would like the following information:
·What are the challenges you face with your child's education?
·Do you have to fight for services?
·Do you feel your school is following the IDEA law?
·What kind of problems have you had?
·How much have you had to spend out of pocket because your
school won't provide the proper services?
·What lessons have you learned?
·Do you have suggestions for congress about IDEA or about school
·What good things can you tell us about your school system?
Congressman Dan Burton (R-IN) would like to hold hearings before
the end of the year about the struggles parents face when their
children have disabilities and they have to fight for education.
