New Year's Challenge
- In response to Len Brown's challenge, I second the motion!!
I do not have much in Australia at this time. Included in Len's list are
Simpson, French, Marshall and Mason.
William SIMPSON married Elizabeth FRENCH 1860, daughter of JOHN FRENCH and
CHRISTIANA BRASH. She was born June 02, 1843 in Scotland and came to
Melbourne in 1852, around the Cape of Good Hope, Africa, to Australia, with
her step-father and mother, Thomas and Christi(a)na Morton Brash PRENTICE.
They married in 1860.
Children of WILLIAM SIMPSON and ELIZABETH FRENCH are:
i. WILLIAM2 SIMPSON, b. 1865, Emerald Hill, Victoria,
Australia; d. 1944, Windsor, Victoria, Australia.
ii. JAMES SIMPSON, b. 1868, Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia;
d. 1868, 5 months, Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia.
iii. MARY FRENCH SIMPSON, m. HERBERT JAMES MARSHALL, 1895; b.
iv. CHRISTINA MORTON SIMPSON, b. 1860, Emerald Hill, Victoria,
Australia; d. 1945, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; m. ?
I'm not sure that Mary French Simpson is Elizabeth and William's child.
The information which I have makes it unlikely, except for the name.
I'm in Stockton which is in northern California and my husband's family on
all sides have been here since 1850-1880. Stockton was a gateway to the
goldrush. I would be happy to attempt assistance to any one on the list
interested in this area.
