I finally accessed the 1901 census the other night, its only open
after about 7pm our time while its being tested. The first two entries
I found had translation errors in the name of the birthplaces, ie
smaresborough was put for Knaresborough.
In the FAQ section they give an area where you can supply correct
info. I tried to do that but need folio and page numbers etc. Off
other lists here are some tips:
Those of you who have been collecting the Page IDs of your 1901 people
may now convert them to PRO Piece Number and (approximate) Folio
part of my website.
Then, if you have access to fiche or film, you may find the page
images for free.
There are still a few "funnies" associated with a few piece numbers
(notably ships) - research is progressing.
You can find the page images for free by opening a session but not
downloading the image. The page immediately before downloading
displays the piece, folio and page number
Any ideas how to get the Folio numbers?
> Would I have to look at the consecutive pages to find it?
When you request a print of the image a dialogue box pops up with a
check box which gives you the option to print the details (Piece,
with the image. This check box defaults to 'unchecked' so you have to
remember to 'check' it every time.
