Re: [englishresearch] PARFITT / MISSING 1881 CENSUS PARTS -BRISTOL
- Dear Janet
Thank you for the list of Parfitts from N. Somt. I believe you also sent a list of Christenings which I have now lost!!!! Sorry to trouble you but is it possible for you to repeat the message?
Mr Jim Doble a retired farmer at Stratton Farm, Stoney Stratton has sent me information on Evercreech and St Peters Church which I have now copied. I am still waiting an additional copy of the Millenium about Stoney Stratton and the Silk Mills in Evercreech, Milton Clevedon and Pecking Mill, these villages are all within a few miles of Evercreech. I am also trying to scan some old postcards my brother, who lives in Bruton, near Evercreech, managed to get hold of
Sorry I have not answered you earlier. Lot of turblence at home. My wife changed her job and I had to move everything from my former work area on the upper floor so that she could have an 'office' and work from home. Instead of two huge floor to ceiling bookcases and about ten drawers in my desks, all full up, I now have two shelves in a bookcase and three drawers in my study in our old garage. The whole floor is chaos with old files and piles of old papers which I am slowly sorting through and throwing out, often until 4am, then up again at 5.45 to make my wife's breakfast and get her off to school.
Just wanted you to know it is not a lack of interest, just a lack of time just now, but I'll be back!
