RE: [endorbunker] Re: A281 Commando Rifle vs. E-11 Blaster Rifle
Note that you can also use a DH 17 Blaster for an Endor Trooper....

since you can find the Hasbro DH-17's in the stores now....
it would be a LOT cheaper to buy one of those and paint it up...$30.00 vs $240.00 -
unless you absolutely have to have an E-11...I think the DH-17 is the way to go.

Hello. I am also a new member but I have researched the E-11 and built a couple of them.
Master Replica's blaster is made from solid metal which means that it is very heavy. I don't think that it is suitable for trooping. Your arms will get tired quickly.
It is also a ANH version with cylinders on top of the mag well and a "Hengstler" counter box on the side.
The version seen in ROTJ is different, based on a quite different version of the base gun with different detailing.
You can read more about the different versions here:

It is not too bad, but not super-accurate either. Most parts look home-made, not casts of anything. It is also a ANH version as Master Replica's.
I have heard good things about "DoopyDoo" blaster kits, but not built one myself. Unfortunately, it is still the ANH version.
I have not found anyone that sells ROTJ-specific parts, although I know that people have in the past -- and only because I have some, acquired in a parts lot.
IMNSHO, the A280 / A281 rifle is THE choice for the Endor Rebel Commando. Plus, you can wear it in a sling so it should be easier to carry around.
