It's been "real quiet" since Mark's big announcement about the new
      mobile Empire.

Unless he's sworn everybody to dead secrecy, can any of you lucky beta
testers share any details? Is it working great on all the platforms?
If I get a tablet, will I be happy with this as a "keep Steve busy
until the movie starts" kinda app?

Just curious how it's all going......

I think each one has an expiration of a year from release, so you are good at least through the end of November next year!

It would be sad if that happened.  This really is a very good implementation of Empire.

With that in mind, will we be able to keep using the betas until it's available in the app stores?

I just hope that the lack of "slickness" isn't a hindrance in Apple's app approval process. Based on my company's experience, they can be finicky on a variety of fronts.

First I want to thank the beta team publicly as they have really helped shape the game. I personally am pleased with how it has come out.
I did want to comment publicly on Barry’s comment:
I do have some concerns about how this will be received by people who aren't already in love with this game.  One thing you find a lot of in both Android and IOS games is a very slick and graceful interface with gameplay secondary.  This is a very direct port of a mouse operated game to a touch game and it's not as slick or graceful as a game designed initially for touch, and the focus is definitely on gameplay, as it always has been.  I think that can be improved but I doubt it can ever really have the slickness of most tablet games.
This is definitely something the game does not try to hide, and I feel as an app it is much deeper than the vast majority of apps out there, where game play IS secondary.
This is a solitaire version of  the game Empire Deluxe. Most apps are definitely thinner, and go for casual gamers and impulse buyers. A design objective here is to target folks who want to take the time to enjoy the actual game itself.
I am sure when it is released that it will have ups and downs as far as reviews go on the various markets, this game is definitely an acquired taste. I did not want to start with an ED-Lite, as that would disappoint those that really want to play the game. They have waited a long time for this.
When it comes out, I would encourage and ask those that do find they enjoy it to write a brief and positive review for the game in what ever markets (like ITunes/Google Play) you care to, as then people that actually care enough to read the reviews will see that there is a great deal substance to it.
