Right. The SU, while faster than the Singers, can't keep up with them plodding along through heavy materials. So, I keep both. Doing upholstery work and such

My hopper manual states in 6 places to apply a couple drops of kerosene to the race area before each sm use. While thin oil will work as well, my thought

It is pretty normal for a machine to run slower and make more noise when sewing as compared to unthreaded. It takes some effort to penetrate the material and

This tick noise is likely from incomplete lubrication. You have to get EVERYTHING on the machines to make them speed up and be quiet. You are headed in the
