ANNOUNCING THE IRON ARTIST CHALLENGE!
On Friday of The One Ring Celebration, this is a new competition held
in the spirit of fun and entertainment. The art produced will be
auctioned off for charity over the weekend.
The Iron Artist contest is based on the same principles of the Iron
Chef TV show from Japan. There will be professional artists on one
side, and an amateur challenger for each pro on the other side. The
professionals do not compete against each other, but against the
challenger in their chosen specialty theme. All artists are free to
use whatever medium they think they can work in the best.
If you are an amateur artist, looking to see if you can make it in
the art world, this is the perfect event for you. We are currently

DANIEL REEVE of WETA is bringing along some cool items to offer to
fans at ORC.
The One Ring Inscription
These inscriptions are hand-written by Daniel Reeve, the official
LOTR movie calligrapher, on hand-coloured "parchment" paper. Because
of the hand-colouring technique used by Daniel (not to mention the
subtle variations in the hand-written tengwar itself), no two pieces
are exactly alike. This is a limited edition item only 500 pieces
worldwide will ever be created. Comes with matt surround, ready for
mounting in a standard 8" x 12" frame.
Invitation to Bilbo's 111th Birthday Party
YOU are invited to Bilbo's Party of Special Magnificence!!! These
invitations are hand-written with a quill by Daniel Reeve, the
official LOTR movie calligrapher, and personalised with YOUR NAME at
the time of purchase. These are created in exactly the same way as
the actual movie props, and use the same wording and layout.
The popular band THE FENIANS will be performing on Friday evening as
part of our party.
SATURDAY NIGHT AS PART OF OUR EVENING SHOW
We will be presenting excerpts from: "Fellowship!" the Musical Parody
of "The Fellowship of the Ring," the hilarious musical send-up of
Tolkien's classic tale (now a classic movie) that had the LA Times
raving about its "inspired silliness... this cast cooks," while the
LA Weekly calls it "hysterical... rife with one-liners." All your
favorite characters will be there... except now they're funny! You'll
see: barefooted tap-dancing Hobbits; an 80's power ballad with
rocking guitar solo by the rightful heir of Gondor; The Balrog, a
dark creature of shadow and flame performing his sequin-studded
cabaret number; and much more! So, fly you fools... to "Fellowship!"
RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS
The documentary narrated by Dominic Monaghan will be screened in its
entirety at ORC. Don't miss the fun of enjoying this feature with
fellow fans and the folks that made it happen!
THE TROUBLE OF THE RINGS
A Russian Fan Parody
Once upon a time there was a Russian forum Henneth-Annun.ru, which
was dedicated to Peter Jackson's movie version of "The Lord of the
Rings". Shortly after the first part of his trilogy was released in
Russian movie theatres, fans started to discuss the changes which PJ
had put into Tolkien's story. At one point came the idea to create an
own fan movie in the form of a parody. The uncommercial project which
was only possible through the enthusiasm of the fans, grew in the 3
years of making to an own journey to Middle-Earth. And as a result,
three movies with the running time of 75 minutes each were made!
