Subject: Richard Louv at the Phoenix Zoo Feb. 15th

      Hi Everyone -

The Phoenix Zoo is having a wonderful guest speaker and author, Richard
Louv, visiting the Zoo on Thursday, February 15th (please see attached). Mr.
Louv's book, Last Child in the Woods, is about how exposure to nature and
wild places is essential for a child's mental, emotional, and physical
health. He discusses how urbanization and increasing lack of natural spaces
have created a condition he terms "Nature Deficit Disorder," in which
children are disconnected from the natural world and its processes.

Teacher's who attend this event will be able to receive a certificate for
      two hours of professional development.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!

      Sincerely,

      Diane
