The Itaa Tsatsayom Program (ITM), in association with the Arizona Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) at the University of Arizona (UA) and NAUs Environmental Education Outreach Program (EEOP), have successfully established a summer course at NAU for program participants and other interested individuals. The course is titled, Elementary Education Curriculum Development (ECI 321). It is a three (3) credit course that will be offered from May 16th to June 3, 2005. The focus of the course will be the development of a water curriculum to meet the needs of the Hopi schools and community.
The program invites interested community members and educators to become involved in the upcoming water curriculum project. To further understand the project, it is important for all interested individuals to attend a free WET (Water Education for Teachers) workshop. The workshop will give individuals a better understanding of what type of curriculum development materials will be generated by participants of the course. The next free WET workshop will be held at NAU on March 12th in the Eastburn Education building, room 211, from 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m., with a one hour break for lunch.
If you are interested, please contact Monica Kahe, the ITM Program Coordinator at (928) 734-3504 or email: MKahe@...
