      2013's Holiday Comet

28 November 2013:  A pristine visitor from the Oort Cloud, sungrazing comet ISON will either sizzle as a spectacular sky show or fizzle as it is torn apart by the sun's gravity and baked by its heat. Join Earth-based astronomers, backyard skywatchers and an unprecedented fleet of spacecraft in observing ISON's perilous journey around the sun.

      Star Party this Saturday

There will be a comet ISON Star Party at the Joshua Tree National Park on Saturday, November 23rd from 6:30 to 10pm. The event is being co-hosted by Celestron Telescopes and the American Park Network. Even though comet ISON is an early morning comet presently, NASA scientists and outreach specialists will be in attendance to discuss comet science and NASA small bodies missions.
