Help Us Honor Environmental Heroes! Nominations Due May 31
It’s time once again to recognize environmental heroes in the Pacific Southwest through our annual awards!
This is a great opportunity to bring public attention to individuals and groups outside of EPA who are working to protect public health and the environment through innovative approaches, development and implementation of successful programs, and inspirational leadership.
Past winners have included scientists, students, citizen activists, universities, tribes, cities, nonprofits and businesses.
You can help! Submit a nomination yourself or spread the word among contacts who may know worthy nominees. Those individuals, groups, businesses, or tribal or government agencies can also self-nominate.
For more details or to submit a nomination, visit http://www.epa.gov/region9/awards . Nominations can be submitted through May 31.
This year, nominations are not limited to a specific set of categories, so nominators can focus on the areas of recognition they choose. A total of six to eight winners from around the Region will be selected in the fall of 2013 and recognized in events in their local areas.
