The ASU College of Technology and Innovation (CTI) is hosting a
Science & Engineering Festival on the Polytechnic campus (in Mesa) on
Friday, February 22, 2013, in collaboration with this year's Arizona
SciTech Festival.  They are planning to provide a day full of
activities that will celebrate the power of Science and Engineering!

They offer two opportunities for the community at-large to
participate, to join in the hoopla:

      *   9:00am to 1:30pm         Field Trips, 6th - 12th grades
STEM scavenger hunt and exhibits, hands-on STEM activities and
      workshops, campus tours, etc.

      *   5:00pm to 8:00pm         Family Festival, all ages
Science and Engineering exhibits, local food trucks, entertainment,
summer camp previews, hands-on STEM activities, etc.

CTI has space for local organizations to have a booth and feature
science and engineering in a fun way -- running the gamut from
educational and entertaining to the purely whimsical.  The purpose of
this event is to engage and excite students (6th - 12th grades) and
their families about doing, making and exploring science and
engineering first-hand.  No big boring posters, no displays that
students can't touch. Only interactive hands-on things, to explore
      and learn by doing!

If interested in working with CTI on this Festival, the first step is
to submit an entry that tells CTI about yourself/program and the
hands-on project that will be at your booth.  They encourage exhibits
that are again highly interactive and highlight the process of how
things work or are made.  All submissions are subject to approval to
avoid duplication.  This event will be held inside and outside, so
for the evening, think about things that glow too!

CTI will contact each applicant by January 18th.  Here is the
registration form to participate: http://tinyurl.com/ccsc73p.  Please
note that there is NO cost to be a part of this community STEM event!
