      Get paid to be a full-time AmeriCorps Member working for food justice and
      improving education in Santa Fe County.

      Earth Care is a Santa Fe based non profit organization founded in 2001whose
      mission is to educate and empower youth to create healthy, just, and
      sustainable communities.

      The Food Cadre is an 11-month leadership development program designed to
      train the next generation of food advocates, urban farmers, educators, and
      leaders. We are seeking dedicated, service-minded Food Cadre Members to
      begin their 11-month service in non-profits, schools, and local government.

      We are seeking early career environmental educators for 5 school-based
      positions. Members will serve four days a week for 11 months at local
      schools where they create, improve and expand education programs that
      develop student leadership, improve education, and address hunger, health
      and environmental issues in the school community. School-based Food Cadre
      members will tend school gardens, teach kids about food, nutrition, hunger
      and sustainability, help promote healthy foods for school lunchrooms, and
      organize service-learning projects in K-12 classrooms.  

      School-based members will participate in on-going coaching, group support,
      and professional development and receive training in food security as well
      as experiential education, service-learning, sustainability education, and
      curriculum development. Additionally, the Cadre works together one day a
      week on community service projects that address food security in the broader

      Compensation: These are AmeriCorps positions. Please visit MyAmeriCorps.gov

      Living Stipend (Full-time = $12,100) during their service and an educational
      stipend upon completion of service (approx $5300) for past or future
      education. Full-time AmeriCorps members are also eligible for health care
      benefits (if not covered under another policy) and child care, as needed.
