      ADDRESSING THE ARIZONA SCIENCE STANDARD UTILIZING POWERFUL GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES
      March 28, 2009
      Time: 9:00 AM –4:00 PM
      Location: Northern Arizona University – Flagstaff Campus
      Registration fee: $195 (includes a copy of the resource book and lunch)
      You’ve heard of GPS and GIS, but how can you use these popular technologies to teach science? Enhance your existing science content lessons by bringing them into the 21st century. With this powerful technology, you can bring the world to your students and gather, map, and analyze scientific data in your classroom. Using Mapping Our World Using GIS, Level 2 in the Our World GIS Education Series, which includes a 1 year software license for ArcGIS 9, you will experience lessons which integrate geographic and scientific inquiry. You will also learn about free online mapping tools to guide students in gathering and analyzing scientific data in a geographic context.

      The deadline for registration is March 16, 2009.
