      Constructing Explanations and Arguing from Evidence in Middle School Science Classrooms
      August 21st 2014    Cost: 50 dollars
      Research based practices for supporting grade 5-8 students in constructing explanations and arguing from evidence in science and for implementing the college and career readiness standards will be shared. The book, Supporting Grade 5-8 Students in Constructing Explanations in Science by Katherine L. McNeill and Joseph S. Krajcik will be provided.

       

       

       

       

      Science and Literacy in the K-3 Classroom
      September 17th 2014  Cost: 20 dollars
      The practice of integrating language instruction while teaching science is critical for building understanding in science. This training will provide an overview of the content and sequence of learning science in the K-3 classroom and a model for integrating the key components of language comprehension within an inquiry-based classroom.

       

       

      Language and Literacy in 3-5 Content Areas
      October 22nd 2014 Cost: 50 dollars
      The practice of integrating language instruction while teaching science is critical for building understanding in science. This training will provide an overview of the content and sequence of learning science in the 3-5 class room and a model for integrating the key components of language comprehension within an inquiry-based classroom. The book, Language and Literacy in Inquiry-Based Science Classroom, Grade 3-8 by Zhihui Fang will be provided as part of the registration cost.
