      Description: Classroom Connect, a business unit within Harcourt, Inc., is a leading provider of professional learning and classroom learning resources that foster successful use of the Internet in K-12 education. The Product Marketing Associate will be a core member of the Product Marketing team, working to ensure that products meet the needs of customers, contributing to the positioning, messaging and promotions for these products.

      The Associate will work with a variety of functions, including sales and marketing staff, product developers, editors, and web producers. The Associate will work in a cooperative, lively and creative environment with award-winning products that are highly regarded, innovative, and educationally powerful. The Associate will report to the Director of Product Marketing.

      Job Responsibilities
      The Product Marketing Associate works to support Product Marketing goals related to marketing planning, product development, awareness and image development, sales facilitation, and usage/loyalty/renewals efforts. The Product Marketing Associate's responsibilities may include opportunities to:

      • Plan, implement, and measure effectiveness of marketing programs to support sales, usage, loyalty, and renewal efforts
      • Craft a variety of marketing communications to customers, including collateral materials for the sales force and trade shows
      • Coordinate promotion efforts at tradeshows and conferences
      • Develop Classroom Connect promotional tools and merchandise to support sales efforts
      • Coordinate programs with the PR department
      • Participate in sales training efforts
      • Complete special product marketing projects
      • Contribute to competitive analyses
      • Help with measurement, tracking, and analysis of web statistics and sales data
      • Help to support partner/sponsor marketing efforts
      • Contribute to web and email marketing efforts
      • Help gather, analyze, and interpret the implications of customer feedback for marketing programming.

      Requirements

      • B.S./B.A. college degree
      • Demonstrated marketing bent, including familiarity with marketing principles
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to work independently, creatively and collaboratively to solve problems
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Outstanding analytical abilities
      • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and changing deadlines
      • Demonstrated passion about education
      • Desire to work in a dynamic Internet environment
      • Facility with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and email
      • 2-3 years related work experience

      Major Pluses:

      • Experience with the K-12 market and buying patterns preferred
      • Experience working across departments in an interdisciplinary, project team environment
