      The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) has entered a period of
      tremendous change and opportunity as it seeks to dramatically
      improve its educational system.

      The Expect Success! project is seeking talented and committed
      professionals to join our team as we redesign OUSD to become the
      best urban public school system in the country. We are building a
      state-of-the-art organization focused on great schools, a
      performance culture and a high quality service organization serving
      schools, families and students.


      Our team is currently seeking an Online Training Courseware Developer
      • This is a two-year project that will start with a three-
      month contract.
      • Extension of the contract is dependent on performance.

      Major Responsibilities:
      • Translate PowerPoint storyboards and/or other content
      sources into online training courses in the OnDemand system(Global
      Knowledge product). Develop complementary training materials, as
      needed.
      • Revise training content to make it appropriate for inputting into
      the online training system. This may include editing for format
      consistency, identifying and adding appropriate graphics, and/or
      adding or changing other elements to make the training
      more engaging and effective.
      • Use independent judgment to determine when approval of changes is
      necessary.
      • Work closely with training designers and/or subject matter
      experts, as needed, on courses, including recommendations
      regarding the length of courses.
      • Train training designers and/or subject matter experts, as needed,
      on online training style and technical issues.
      • As needed, take primary responsibility for researching and writing
      training courses, working with subject matter experts.
      • Participate on the team that is rolling out online training to
      school district staff, including engagement on communications,
      policy decisions and quality control.

      Technical Skills:
      • Expert user of Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word,
      Excel, Paint and Visio.
      • Learn quickly and effectively utilize a variety of other software
      applications.

      Other Required Skills:
      • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational
      skills.
      • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and
      independently.
      • Excellent research, writing and editing skills.
      • Patience, positive attitude and flexibility.
      • Must be able to work well under pressure, be diplomatic and be
      able to deal effectively with people.

      Ideal Skills and Experience:
      • Global Knowledge's OnDemand Developer or User Productivity Kit
      (UPK).
      • Instructional design or training experience.
      • CBT design and development experience.
      • School District or other public sector experience is a plus.
