Insight Education, LLC is looking to hire full-time and part-time
Educational/College Admissions Counselors. Counselors work with
families on an individual basis to navigate the increasingly complex
educational system and college admissions process. Our students range
in age from 6th grade to 12th grade.

      Who are we?
Insight Education, LLC (formerly Insight College Prep) was founded in
1999 by a team of Stanford Graduates with the long-term mission of
helping students gain entry to the colleges of their choice. Insight
works with high school students to guide and assist them through all
stages of the process including (and not limited to) academics,
standardized testing, extracurricular activities, honors and awards,
leadership and volunteer work. We strongly believe that every student
possesses a unique set of characteristics, strengths, and passions. We
work with families to help cultivate these traits. The environment is
      fast-paced, challenging and very rewarding.

      Job Description
Insight's educational counselors are entrusted with working directly
with middle and high school aged students. The work involves mentoring
students with regard to soft skills such as time management,
organizational, and study. You will also help students plan and define
their high school curriculum, prepare for their standardized tests,
design daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly academic & activity calendars.

Our counselors are also heavily involved in helping high school
students find interesting and challenging summer internship
opportunities, particularly in the Bay Area. This work is a component
of the work you will do in advising students on how to best make use
of their time outside of the classroom. This is an increasingly
important component of our program as colleges place more and more
emphasis on well rounded, balanced student profiles.

The final and most critical component of your work involves guiding
students throughout the college admissions process. This includes
researching colleges and majors with students and their parents and
assembling their college applications. The college essay is the most
important aspect of the application and Insight counselors spend a
great deal of time with students brainstorming, developing, editing
      and finalizing college essays.

In the second half of an Insight counselor's first year we will also
endeavor to expose you to the process of acquiring new clients through
our initial consultation and our community seminar series processes.

An interest in the business of education is also preferred. Given the
nature of our small, start-up environment all staff are called upon to
take part in all aspects of the business. These functions include
marketing, public relations, advertising, client relations, staff
recruiting, financial planning, strategic development & collaboration,
community outreach, curriculum development and program management.
Candidates who show a passion and facility for the business of
education may be given the opportunity to contribute actively towards
the strategic growth of the company.

      Required Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a degree from a top undergraduate
program with a stellar academic profile. This includes top scores on
standardized tests such as the SAT 1 and/or ACT, SAT IIs, and AP Tests.

A desire to work actively with middle to high school aged children and
their parents is essential. And experience with educational/college
counseling and/or tutoring is preferred. Candidates must, however, be
      willing and eager to learn.

Familiarity with the SAT 1 is a definite plus as all of our counselors
will be called upon to teach one or all sections of the SAT.
Proficiency with at least one subject that is tested through the AP or
SAT II system is also preferred.

BA/BS required (pending graduation meets requirement), prior
experience working in the education field as a counselor, teacher, or
mentor, some familiarity with the college admissions process desired
but not required. We are looking primarily for enthusiastic people
who share a genuine passion for working with high school students and
a strong interest in both education and business. Individuals who are
extremely self-motivated, conscientious, innovative, and ambitious
will be most likely to succeed in the fast-paced environment of our
      educational start-up.
Work Authorization Requirements: US Citizen or Permanent Resident
