      Riverdeep Position: PRODUCT MANAGER
      Reports To: Director of Product Management
      FLSA Status: Exempt
      Department: School Marketing
      Location: San Francisco, CA

      Summary:
      Responsible for the product management of Riverdeep’s education platform products including content delivery, assessment and learning management, professional services and implementation. This includes product delivery from product conception through implementation and ultimately ongoing product management.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Own and champion customer needs, as well as product vision, strategies and plans. Communicate and drive consensus with internal stakeholders, including Senior Management, Product Development, Sales, and Key Customers
      • Manage new education platform products through the product development cycle, including owning the gathering of data, analysis and presentation of market requirements, define positioning, creation of marketing plan, P&L ownership, developing and executing marketing support activities.
      • Work with other product managers and management to develop, present and execute on Riverdeep’s enterprise platform strategy, requiring strong understanding of enterprise strength learning management solutions.
      • Ensure that the product positioning and value proposition are translated to the marketing communication team such that the message is consistent across all marketing channels including PR, packaging, advertising, website, promotions and direct marketing.
      • Provide constant feedback to internal stakeholders and cross-functional groups on industry trends, competitive activities and customer trends.
      • Work with the product management team to develop, present and execute annual product plan, budgets and forecasts.
      • Work with the product managers and marketing communication team to develop the annual product marketing plan.
      • Develop and execute data gathering initiatives, including, but not limited to: category/segment analysis, ongoing metrics tracking and analysis, customer satisfaction surveys, concept development (prototyping), focus groups, emerging technologies, competitive analysis and internal analysis.
      • Develop close relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including product development, product design, operations, finance, sales, technical support, and business development teams to ensure constant, smooth communication.
      Qualifications:
      • 2 - 5 years product marketing experience with responsibility for driving product/brand strategy and plans across cross-functional teams.
      • Experience in, and passion for educational and/or technology products,
      • Experience in enterprise marketing/product in the K-12 or post secondary education space.
      • Experience in developing and executing product marketing programs, and managing them against budgets.
      • Experience in development and executing of K-12 or post secondary product marketing programs for Learning Management, Data Management, Content Management, Grade Books, On-line education, Instructional portals is highly desired.
      • Proven experience developing product concepts and prototypes for testing.
      • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
      • Ability to analyze sales and consumer trends and feed them into defined product and marketing strategies.
      • Excellent organizational skills – ability to handle multiple projects at once.
      • Knowledge of and experience with broad range of marketing research and analytical disciplines.

      • BA degree, MBA preferred or equivalent experience
      • BS/BA in Business, Marketing or related degree, MBA a plus.

      Reports To: Vice President of Education Marketing

      Summary:
      Responsible for the entire product management process of Riverdeep’s Online Publishing product line – including key brands Kid Pix and The Print Shop. Owns entire product delivery from product conception through implementation and ultimately ongoing product management.

      Own and champion customer needs, as well as product vision, strategies and plans. Communicate and drive consensus with internal stakeholders, including Senior Management, Product Development, Sales, and Key Customers.

      5. SWOT overview from Product Plan

      Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:

      General Requirements include:
      • Minimum of Five Years of Senior Product Management experience with ownership of a product or product line.
      • Background in publishing tools and online publishing is a must
      • Five years experience in web site and/or web-based application design, including models for hosting, content management and customer support
      • Experience with programs to develop web communities, drive web traffic and customer acquisition, promote viral market activity, and models for co-marketing programs
      • Experience supporting business development programs - including in-bound licensing of content and third-party applications
      • Ability to collaborate with all functions (order management, customer service, tech support, accounts receivable, IT, marketing, product development) to represent marketing’s needs, promote process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.
      • Past experience in product development a plus
