New Leaders for New Schools is a national non-profit that fosters high academic achievement for every child by recruiting, training, and supporting the next generation of outstanding principals for our nation’s urban public schools. New Leaders aggressively recruits extremely talented people to become urban school principals by providing them with rigorous, hands-on leadership training and a yearlong Residency with an outstanding mentor principal. We help place our participants in urban public schools and provide them with ongoing support, networking, and a community of peers. New Leaders currently runs programs in Baltimore, Chicago, Memphis, New York City, Oakland/California’s Bay Area, and Washington, DC. New Leaders for New Schools is growing rapidly and currently has several positions available:National-Level Positions:
Deputy Director of Curriculum Design – The Deputy Director of Curriculum Design will play a critical role in designing New Leaders’ training program and will shape content, define objectives, select faculty, develop multi-day courses, and ensure that the program’s content/pedagogy reflects effective professional development and adult learning needs.Deputy Director of Development - The National Deputy Director for Development will collaborate with the National Director of Development and CEO in implementing strategies to increase income for New Leaders for New Schools.Deputy Director of Development Finance - The Deputy Director of Development Finance will collaborate with the National Director of Development and the National Director of Finance and Administration in creating financial analyses and qualititative reports to support the development efforts of New Leaders for New Schools.National Recruiter – The National Recruiter will design, manage and implement New Leaders for New Schools’ efforts to identify, attract and select exceptional potential principals.City-Level Positions:
Deputy Director – The Deputy Director for each New Leaders for New Schools’ program site will be responsible for assisting the local Executive Director in leading and implementing all aspects of our recruiting and training program for outstanding future principals. (Openings in the California Bay Area and New York City.)Leadership Coach – Leadership Coaches are successful veteran principals who work individually with New Leaders and provide direct coaching, support, and problem-solving help to ensure that New Leaders have the skills to lead schools that deliver high levels of academic achievement for every child. Leadership Coaches work with New Leaders during their Residency training year and in their first two years of school leadership. (Opening in the California Bay Area.)Program Associate – The Program Associate will be responsible for a mixture of project management and administrative functions, including external communications with partners and funders, event planning, data entry, phone management, scheduling and general office management.
