      Galileo Educational Services – Recruiting Manager

      Galileo Educational Services will inspire more than 7,000 Bay Area
      children in summer 2005. Now we need 300 fantastic educators and
      counselors to make it happen! We are hiring a Recruiting Manager,
      for a contract position to help our Director of Staff Recruiting
      during our busiest season. The primary responsibilities of the
      position include helping to advertise job openings and screening
      applicants both online and via telephone interviews.

      This is a 40-hr per week, contract position running from February
      1 — July 1, 2005. (No healthcare benefits are offered with this
      position.)

      Job Responsibilities Include:

      Generating Inquiries:
      • Contacting college and high school career centers to arrange
      postings of summer positions; meeting with contacts in person and
      delivering recruiting materials
      • Developing relationships with local school district HR
      personnel to advocate for Galileo's programs and arrange school-
      based recruiting opportunities directed toward the educator community
      • Scheduling and staffing campus-based recruiting tables
      • Additional outreach to Arts, Science, and Outdoor Education
      organizations to arrange for job postings or referrals

      Screening Applicants:
      • Reviewing applications submitted online
      • Conducting telephone screening interviews

      The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
      • College graduate
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Experience interviewing and selecting job candidates
      • Enthusiasm for summer day camps
      • Ability to multi-task

      Hours per week: 40
      Pay: $17-20/hour
      Employment Period: February 2005 - July 2005
      Location: Oakland (Rockridge neighborhood near BART)
      Employee type: Contractor (no benefits)
      Travel: the position will involve approximately 40% travel via car,
      and 60% work in our office. The travel will be to locations ranging
      from San Francisco to San Jose. Galileo reimburses for mileage.

      Galileo Educational Services was founded in 2002 to provide
      opportunities for young people to discover and pursue their
      passions. Through collaboration with phenomenal instructors and The
      Tech Museum of Innovation, Klutz, and Art in Action, Galileo
      operates science, art, and outdoor summer programs that will serve
      7,000 Bay Area children at 11 locations in 2005. To learn more

      someone for the following position: Team Leader – this individual
      must be a senior high school student or college student. Will mentor
      a group of 16 kids during camp season by leading them in cheers,
      skits, and games and assist instructors in classroom while
      instructors are teaching. Must demonstrate enthusiasm and maturity
      with kids grades K-5.

      to work at Galileo summer camps
