      Recruiting/HR Associate

      Envision Education

      Envision Education is seeking an enthusiastic, results-oriented Recruiter/HR Associate to support the recruitment, selection, and retention of the best teachers and staff for our schools.  The Recruiter/HR Associate is a key role that interfaces with internal leadership as well as acts as the "face" of Envision to potential candidates. This is a full-time position based out of our Support Office in Oakland.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      • Manage the sourcing of potential candidates, including formatting and posting advertisements, attending job fairs, and engaging in strategic networking and referral campaigns

      • Work with Director of HR to develop new and/or improve upon current systems and strategies for attracting, selecting and retaining the best teachers for Envision Schools. 

      • Design and print recruitment materials with in-house Communications staff and outside vendors

      • In collaboration with Director, develop and revise teacher interview questions and selection tools

      • Manage online applicant tracking tool 

      • Conduct first-round interviews of teacher candidates and make determinations about next steps for selection

      • Coordinate 3-4 annual group interview days for 20-30 candidates and evaluators 

      • Partner with Principals around the selection and hiring process of teachers

      • Support Director of HR with Support Office hiring

      • Recruit substitute teachers and manage substitute availability list

      • Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding

      • Work with Payroll Associate to enter and manage employee data in Sage HRIS and Payroll system

      • Evaluate teacher credentials and work with teachers, CTC and charter-granting entities on any credentialing issues

      • Conduct and present analyses on teacher recruitment

      • Support Envision Education employees with HR inquiries, verifications of employment, and employee relations

      • Work with Operations Manager to provide compliance reporting to government agencies

      • Support Director of HR with benefits meetings and other projects as assigned

      Reports to:

      Director of Human Resources

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Demonstrated success in recruiting, preferably in an education environment

      • Proven track record of developing successful internal and external partnerships 

      • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively 

      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to serve as an ambassador and representative for the organization and articulate our mission to candidates and external partners

      • Self-starter with a proven ability to complete multiple high-stakes tasks with solid deadlines 

      • Flexible, people-oriented team player who is committed to the mission of Envision Education

      • Customer-service orientation

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree required

      • Minimum 3-5 years of recruiting experience, preferably at an education organization

      • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills

      • Prior experience or interest working in a Human Resources department preferred

      • Teaching experience a plus

      • Availability and willingness to work some nights and weekends
